ADHD/ADD

Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, otherwise known as ADHD, and Attention Deficit Disorder, ADD, are complicated diagnoses that require time and patience to diagnose.  If you are concerned that your child has ADHD or ADD, please make an appointment with Dr. Dana as soon as you are able to discuss your concerns.

Be aware that signs and symptoms of ADHD and ADD can overlap with many other conditions including learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, hearing loss, or may be part of the normal development process.  After interviewing you and your child, it may be necessary for further testing, including rating forms with the school and/or psychological testing.

If it is determined that your child has ADHD or ADD, Dr. Dana will discuss treatment options to decide the best choice for your family and child.  Typically, Dr. Dana will follow up with your child in a month from the start of medicine and every three months after a steady dose of medicine is achieved.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask Dr. Dana at your next visit.
