Billing Questions
For billing information, please become familiar with your own insurance plan and its deductibles, copays, and coverage limits.
The most common question we get is “Why was I charged for two visits when I came for my wellness visit?” The answer is that some plans cover both well and problem visits completely, so no matter what comes up at the wellness visits there are no extra copays, but other plans charge very different copays if you discuss anything except a perfectly normal well or preventive exam. If you know your insurance plan, you can remind us anytime you come in and we can be extra cautious about addressing anything unnecessary at the wellness visits so we prevent you from having unexpected charges.
Another common mistake is having a second wellness visit before your insurance plan allows it. Sometimes you have to wait a full 365 days, while other insurance plans may let you have another wellness visit after 11 months. Please be sure you know your insurance plan inside and out.
