Biography
Dr. Wendy Lai is a pediatrician with extensive experience in caring for children and adolescents. A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Lai completed her residency training in 2013 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, one of the largest children's hospitals in the nation. Over the past decade, she has dedicated herself to pediatric care at Baylor Family Health Center in Mesquite and Pecan Tree Pediatrics in Rockwall before joining Forest Lane Pediatrics.
Dr. Lai is deeply committed to fostering long-term relationships with both her patients and their families. Whether working with premature infants or adolescents up to the age of 18, she prides herself on creating a trusting and supportive environment for her young patients and their parents. Her patient-centered approach focuses on providing the best care possible, grounded in evidence-based practices that follow the latest standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In her practice, Dr. Lai addresses a wide range of pediatric health concerns, from managing chronic conditions such as asthma to navigating the complex mental health challenges faced by today’s teenagers. She views her physician role as a privilege, understanding the immense trust that families place in her to care for their children's health and well-being.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Lai has a deep commitment to community and personal growth. She enjoys mentoring her little sister through the Big Brother Big Sister Program, and she values spending time with her family and two dogs. She likes to stay active and hikes at least one new national park a year. In 2022, Dr. Lai achieved her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification, and in 2023, she completed a 30-hour mindfulness training program. She is excited to integrate yoga and mindfulness into her medical care, particularly in supporting children’s mental health and providing them with tools to manage stress and anxiety.
