Biography

Dr. Damien Mitchell is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in the care of newborns, children, and adolescents at Forest Lane Pediatrics. He joined Forest Lane in 2009 after completing his pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center Dallas where he received an “Award for Clinical Excellence” and was selected to be Chief Resident 2008-2009. Prior to his residency training, he received his Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City, OK. Dr. Mitchell also is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas Medical Society, and the Pediatric Society of Greater Dallas. While practicing at Forest Lane Pediatrics, Dr. Mitchell has been named a "Best Pediatrician" by D Magazine and a "Mom Approved Doctor" by DFW Child Magazine.

Dr. Mitchell enjoys taking care of children from birth through adolescence and would consider it an honor to care for your child. The birth of a new child brings immense joy, hope, and excitement to a family. However, with that joy and hope also come stress and uncertainty. Participating in the joy of a new child while helping a family through the stressful times is the part of Pediatrics that Dr. Mitchell loves most. The opportunity to share in the life of a child and make sure that he or she goes through life healthy and able to reach his or her full potential is the reason he became a pediatrician.

Dr. Mitchell lives near White Rock Lake in East Dallas with his wife and their two children. In his free time, he loves to golf, cook, smoke meats, cheer for the Cowboys, travel, volunteer at his church, and spend time with his wife and family.
