About Thrive
Our Mission
We provide evidence-based primary care for the whole patient – addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health to enable every individual to Thrive. We empower patients to make long-term lifestyle changes to reduce their risk of future disease and improve chronic health conditions utilizing a patient-centered approach to wellness. We build relationships with our patients and our community to combat racial health disparities, reverse the obesity epidemic, and increase personal and societal wellness. We inspire our employees to work to their fullest potential by fostering a culture of compassion, engagement, and optimal team practice.
About Thrive
Thrive Primary Care was founded by Jen Mohler, PA-C, CPAAPA in 2021 out of a calling to do “more.” As the Covid-19 pandemic hit the US in 2020, the pre-existing racial inequities in healthcare came into sharp focus. While Jen had already been providing high-quality patient-centered primary care in Southern Maryland, she dreamed of creating a practice that was more proactive in reaching communities that don’t traditionally come into a medical office – to be the hands and feet of Jesus going out into the community to serve. She also wanted to create a place where compassion was felt by each patient walking through the doors. Whether or not they share the same beliefs, every patient deserves to feel that someone will listen to them, genuinely cares about them, and wants them to Thrive!
Our Team
Collaborating MD – Dr. Karlene Ross
Jen Mohler, PA-C is pleased to announce that Dr. Karlene Ross, owner of Waldorf Primary Care, has signed on to be her supervising physician. Dr. Ross is also a Privia member and is highly dedicated to quality patient care. She is a great fit to collaborate with Thrive.
Office Manager – Liz Rodriguez
Liz has Texas roots and is married to her high school sweetheart – together they have 3 children, 5 grandkids, and a Yorkie.
Liz chose a career in healthcare so she could help make a bigger impact in people’s lives. After her husband retired from the military, they moved from San Diego to their “forever home” in Calvert. Her positive attitude, experience, and heart for service are such a blessing to Thrive!
Medical Assistant – Morgan Green
Morgan was born and raised in Southern Maryland and also married her high school sweetheart! They have two daughters, a rescued dog, and two very large cats.
Morgan felt called to the medical field after her younger daughter was born with Congenital Heart Disease. Being surrounded by caring people when they needed it most made her want to serve others in a similar way. She thoroughly enjoys working as an MA. Patients really appreciate her calm demeanor and dedication – Thrive is blessed to have her as part of the team!
Prior Authorization, Refills, and Billing Specialist – Deanna Gregory
Deanna grew up in Calvert County. She is married with two children. She enjoys time with her family, dogs, and her horse. Thrive recruited Deanna to work remotely doing prior authorizations, medication refills, and billing. She is multi-talented and also fills in for Liz and Morgan when they are out of the office. She prides herself on excellent customer service and going above and beyond for our patients.
