Biography

Sophie was raised in Annapolis where she graduated from Broadneck High School. She would go on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College. While working on a clinical trial through George Washington University in Washington, DC, Sophie received a Master’s degree in Medical Anthropology focusing on women's and reproductive health across cultures. She then returned to Boston College where she earned a second Master’s degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

After graduating, Sophie worked as a nurse practitioner in a federally qualified health center in Cape Cod, Massachusetts specializing in gynecology. She then spent the next ten years at a private OBGYN practice in the Annapolis area doing both obstetrics and gynecology as well as surgical assisting.

She has expertise in Women’s health and gynecology across the age spectrum. Her particular interests are the menopause transition, adolescent gynecology, vulvovaginal disease, menstrual disorders, contraception and family planning, as well as gynecologic procedures.
