Weight Management
At MOST, we understand the body naturally changes as we age, along with the accompanying potential for a decrease in one’s physical and mental well-being. We view weight management similar to a chronic condition and should be treated as such. Of course, a healthy diet and physical exercise are critical to weight loss and maintenance. However, sometimes, our biology prevents us from maintaining or even reaching our goals. Our program combines the expertise of our skilled medical professionals with a customized weight loss program just for you at any age, kids and adults – highlighted by Hormone Treatments, B12 Shots, Exercise & Nutrition Support, and possibly various medications such as Semaglutide (Ozempic).

What are the Benefits of a Medical Weight Loss Program?
Participating in a medical weight loss program helps address the many challenges that cause popular or mainstream diets to fail. Beginning with a comprehensive exam and testing, if a health issue is identified, we can provide treatments to accelerate weight loss. By addressing the underlying factors contributing to weight gain, MOST helps you achieve healthy and lasting results. Additionally, regular follow up appointments are scheduled to help monitor progress and if a plateau is reached, the customized program can be adjusted accordingly to aid in continual weight loss. The program is specifically designed for long term success, and does not solely focus on weight loss but rather enhancing overall health and self-confidence and improving energy levels and cardiovascular health.
What is Semaglutide?
- Semaglutide is the generic name for an active ingredient in medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy. Semaglutide is an injectable medication prescribed to aid in weight loss and management of type 2 diabetes.
- Semaglutide is part of a class of medications called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists. Meaning, when the medication enters the body, it mimics the GLP-1 hormone and released into the gastrointestinal tract as we eat.
- Semaglutide targets the areas of the brain responsible for regulating appetite – making us feel full and avoid overeating as the medication functions as a powerful appetite suppressant. Over time, and in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise routine, Semaglutide assists with weight management and weight loss.
- In addition to suppressing appetite, Semaglutide works to increase insulin production and lower blood sugar levels and is regularly prescribed to patients dealing with type 2 diabetes.

What is the process for taking Semaglutide?
- If you are interested in taking Semaglutide for weight loss or management, the first step will be scheduling a consultation with our Nurse Practitioner, Kelly Kleifges. During the initial meeting, Kelly will discuss your medication options, health history, and weight-oriented goals. If you decide to move forward with treatment, Kelly will prescribe the medication and demonstrate how to properly inject it. The medication is typically injected by the patient once per week.
- In clinical studies with patients taking Semaglutide for a total of 68 weeks – Half the participants lost approximately 15% of their body weight while some individuals lost about 20%.
- After taking Semaglutide, some patients start to notice weight loss at around four weeks, but it may take up to eight to twelve weeks for significant results.
