When Dr. Richards is not working she spends her time reading, watching classic movies, playing the piano, and taking care of her numerous hibiscus plants. She also can be found going to Crossfit, running in her neighborhood, and walking her Chihuahua, Achilles.
Biography
Dr. Jinné Richards was born and raised on the island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, where she graduated from high school in 2000. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas campus in 2004. Subsequently, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she completed both medical school at Boston University School of Medicine, as well as a Masters of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health. In 2011, she moved to Albany, Georgia for residency training at the Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Residency, which she completed 2014. Dr. Richards served as the Chief Resident for the Family Medicine Residency from 2013 to 2014 and is now board certified in family medicine.
Dr. Richards has always known that medicine was her calling. She grew up in a household where the health profession was prominent as both her father and older brother are dentists. Growing up, she worked with her father's patients in his dentistry practice since age 12. “Working with my father not only helped to develop my work ethic but also helped to demonstrate the importance of treating one's patients as if they are family.”
