Washington Ear Associates is a major cochlear implant center in the East Coast. We conduct an efficient and thorough assessment of patients who feel that hearing aids do not meet their needs. This is conducted through a comprehensive hearing test followed by specialized hearing evaluation with hearing aids in place in quiet and in background noise to help objectify patients’ complaints. This assessment does not always reveal cochlear implantation candidacy, but it helps our team guide patients on how to restore their hearing health and discuss the best possible options. Cochlear implant assessment, surgical intervention, and postoperative activation and mapping involves a major team effort and the collaboration of various professionals. Our team has worked very hard since late 2016 to create a strong and solid cochlear implant center.
