Internal Medicine is a specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. Physicians who specialize in internal medicine are referred to as internists. An internist's training focuses on learning the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
