Biography

Dr. Khan completed his undergraduate and medical training at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. He then went on to complete his fellowship in Endocrinology at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. His research interests included improving diabetes management in hospitalized patients and development of novel therapies for treatment of new onset type 1 diabetes. He chose to pursue his love and passion for clinical medicine after completing his fellowship training.

He has held various clinical and leadership positions at local health systems. He founded Howard County Endocrinology with the goal of providing personalized care in a small, family-friendly medical practice. Dr. Khan is a strong believer in engaging his patients and partnering with them to improve their health and well-being. He provides full-spectrum of endocrinology care at Howard County Endocrinology; including comprehensive management of diabetes type 1 and type 2, insulin pump management, continuous glucose management systems, thyroid disorder- including thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided FNA biopsies, pituitary disease, adrenal disorders, hypercalcemia, metabolic bone disease, etc. His clinical excellence has been recognized by his peers. He was voted one of Baltimore’s Top Doctors in Diabetes and Endocrinology (by the Baltimore Magazine) in the years 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2022.

Dr. Khan lives in Ellicott city with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys the outdoors and loves to travel with his family. He strongly believes in preserving the earth and its environment for the next generations. He pledges to limit the practice’s carbon footprint and will donate a percentage of the practice’s yearly proceeds to a worthy non-profit organization engaged in protecting the environment.
