Biography
Dr. Lakhian was certified and licensed in 1993 by the Medical Council of Canada. In that year she received her certification in Internal Medicine and, in 1994, in Endocrinology and Metabolism, both by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She was certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners (U.S.) for the USMLE Parts I and II in 1995, and in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the same year. In 1997, Dr. Lakhian received her board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from the American Board of Internal Medicine subspecialty examiners.
In addition to being a member of the Ontario Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Association, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and Surgeons of Canada. She is also a member of the American College of Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, and the Endocrine Society. Dr. Lakhian is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE).
