Personal Interests

In his spare time, David enjoys teaching group fitness classes such as strength training, yoga, and Pilates. He has been a certified instructor since 2018 and continues to challenge himself by practicing Ashtanga yoga. Growing up in the Austin and Dallas areas, David relishes the time he has to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoys the adventure of traveling to new places.

Biography

David Rihn is a registered dietitian nutritionist with a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Metabolism from Boston University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. Before joining Endocrine Associates of Dallas, David worked for UCLA Health Sports Performance in Los Angeles and in various clinical and community settings. These opportunities allowed him to serve diverse populations which included children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, collegiate and elite athletes, as well as families of children with Type 2 Diabetes.

David is passionate to provide patients with a new perspective on diabetes self-management. He combines medical with technological treatment options along with lifestyle and behavior changes to achieve optimal blood glucose. His goal is to make recommendations that improve the quality and enjoyment of life. David enjoys working with a diverse population of patients from various backgrounds and lifestyles. Educational programs are tailored to the needs of the patient at both the individual and community levels.
