Biography

Dr. Daniel Mathis was born and raised in Mt. Juliet, TN. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Union University in Jackson, TN, headed up I-40E where he received his medical degree at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN, and completed his Pediatrics residency training in Chattanooga, TN. After exploring all sides of the state, he was ecstatic to move back home and set down roots in a community that has poured so much into him. While in residency, he was awarded the Medical Student Teaching Award, Pediatric Hospital Medicine Outstanding Resident Award, and he was his program’s nominee for the Alper Humanitarian Award given to a graduating resident who consistently demonstrated integrity, compassion, and community service.

He moved to Gallatin in 2023 and began providing care through Compass Pediatrics. He has also been a member of Leadership Gallatin, a program designed to explore, experience, and engage in all things Gallatin focusing on important community organizations & industries. He views this job as an exciting calling to build relationships with families, helping navigate the holistic health of the child from birth to early adulthood.
