At Bel Air Family Care, we do our best to make sure all of our patient’s urgent care needs are met as quickly as possible. Making a doctor’s appointment for an immediate care evaluation when feeling ill, suffering from acute illness problems, or sustaining an injury is an extremely important part of the healing process.
We provide immediate care for a wide range of medical problems including:
Cold symptoms include a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, coughing, feeling tired, and general aches and pains.
Immediate care is needed when someone has a cold and is experiencing difficulty breathing, chest pain, a cough that will not stop, a persistent headache and/or a constant fever.
Flu symptoms include a runny or stuffy nose, a sore throat, coughing, extreme fatigue, a fever, headaches, and severe body aches and pains. Because the flu is a serious illness it can potentially be life-threatening.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing flu symptoms due to the many additional health complications the flu can cause.
Pneumonia symptoms include a fever, diarrhea, coughing, chills, shallow breathing, feeling exhausted, and nausea.
Immediate care is needed for anyone who believes they have pneumonia as this is a serious illness that can have long-lasting effects. The faster treatment is sought the faster the patient will recover, making immediate care especially important for those who already have a chronic health condition.
Earache symptoms include ear pain, jaw pain, sore throat, redness, swelling, draining, and fever.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing a high fever, hearing loss, is feeling dizzy, or has ear pain that is so bad that they cannot bear it.
GI (gastrointestinal) symptoms include heartburn, nausea, abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, and indigestion.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing dark urine, rectal bleeding, rectal leakage, stools that are light in color, hard to control bowel movements, and ongoing acid reflux.
UTI (urinary tract infection) symptoms include having cloudy or bloody urine, having a persistent urge to urinate, feeling a burning sensation when urinating, and feeling general pressure in the pelvic area.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing nausea or vomiting, has a fever and chills at the same time, or is experiencing pain in the lower abdomen area.
Sore throat symptoms include pain in the throat area, running a fever, having a runny nose, coughing, sneezing, body aches, and nausea.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing severe throat pain, has difficulty swallowing, has a fever over 101° that lasts longer than one day, has difficulty sleeping because the throat is swollen or has a red rash.
Pink eye symptoms include a redness in the white part of the eye, runny eyes, swelling, itching, pain and a discharge that causes the eyes to crust over when waking up in the morning.
Immediate care is needed anytime someone has pink eye because this highly contagious condition can be caused by bacteria, which requires medical treatment in order for it to go away.
Some of the more common sports injuries include ankle sprains, shoulder injuries, groin pulls, concussions, tennis elbow, lacerations, and bruises.
Immediate care is needed when someone experiences any type of sports injury, especially when the person is in extreme pain, feeling nauseous or vomiting, or experienced some form of trauma to the head.
Skin abscess symptoms include fever, chills, fluid drainage, swelling, tenderness, redness, and firm skin tissue around the abscess area.
Immediate care is needed when someone has a skin abscess that is more than half an inch wide, is experiencing severe pain, has a fever, sees a sign of infection such as red streaks, or has a skin abscess that is located close to the groin area.
Laceration repair is necessary when someone receives a laceration that is long, deep and/or caused by a jagged object.
Immediate care is needed anytime someone receives a laceration in order to get a professional evaluation on how to properly treat the laceration.
Skin care is often necessary for those experiencing extremely dry skin, acne, rosacea, and more skin conditions that require routine health care.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing pain or ongoing skin conditions that are not going away and thus getting in the way of their being able to live a happy and productive life.
Joint pain symptoms include a swelling and tenderness in the joints along with various levels of consistent and lingering pain.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing more than the usual swelling, tenderness, and redness that occur when diagnosed with joint problems.
Back pain symptoms can include dull aching pains or sharp ongoing pains that can spread to other parts of the body, which tends to get worse from prolonged sitting.
Immediate care is needed when someone is experiencing back pain that does not improve after two weeks of self-care treatment, is accompanied by a fever, is causing a numbness or tingling in the legs, or is so severe they are not able to perform their everyday duties.
Skin infection symptoms include redness, rash, itching, pain, tenderness and/or blisters.
Immediate care is needed whenever someone is experiencing a skin infection as it needs professional medical treatment in order for it to go away.
Ear wax symptoms include pain, having difficulty hearing, feeling the need to get inside of the ear often, experiencing an odor or discharge from the ear, and dizziness.
Immediate care is needed when someone thinks they may have ear wax because removal by a professional is the safest way to remove ear wax. Ear wax can also be a sign of another health condition, making it necessary to seek immediate care when someone has too much ear wax.
