2023 IPPS: Understanding Pelvic Pain: Virtual Course for People with Pelvic Pain

This Course is Intended For:
Individuals and their support partners with pelvic pain who would like to learn more about how pelvic pain develops, what is involved, how to optimize researched self-care strategies, and how and where to get the care you need.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course attendees will be able to:
Describe how chronic pelvic pain is different from acute pain
Explain the role the nervous system plays in the pain experience
List the areas that pelvic pain practitioners can address in their assessment and treatment
Outline the self-management tools that show the best outcome for improving function.

Course Description:
This half day live webinar course is designed to give patients an overview about current methods of assessment and treatment of persistent pelvic pain. Specialty clinicians will explain the different systems involved in various types of pain. Information will be shared about how to make the most of your home program and daily routines to reduce the impact of the pain you have experienced as well as how to find a team of pelvic pain providers who can address the different symptoms and also. There will be physical practice of best techniques to address pelvic pain and multiple opportunities to ask questions of the panel.
