Biography

Dr. Karen Robbins is a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist who is also Board Certified in Pediatrics. She is committed to providing quality care and best practices to improve the lives of her patients, and offer treatments that help achieve the goals of each and every patient.

Dr. Robbins joined Allergy and Asthma Associates in 2021. Prior to this, she worked as an Attending Allergist/Immunologist at Children's National Hospital and was the educational director for medical students, residents (George Washington University), and served as the site director for the National Institutes of Health Allergy and Immunology Fellowship.
She currently specializes in pediatric and adult allergy and asthma care, has specific interests in childhood drug and food allergy.

Dr. Robbins attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University, and graduated in 2007. She was a resident in Pediatrics at Children's National Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed her Allergy and Immunology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She has conducted research on concerns related to growth and nutrition with food allergy, breastfeeding and allergic disease, sleep and childhood allergy, and has been involved in clinical trials of food oral immunotherapy.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI), and member of American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).

She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two children.
