Biography

James Herd, MD was raised in Fort Worth as his Father was an OB/GYN there from 1968-2006. He attended Fort Worth Country Day and then Vanderbilt University. Dr. Herd attended University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas from 1983-1987. His Residency in OB/GYN was at UCLA. He then came back to Fort Worth to work with his Dad in 1991 and worked alongside him until he retired in 2006. In the mid-nineties, they formed Texas Health Care initially as an OB/GYN group that has since morphed into over 140 physicians in most medical specialties.

Dr. Herd practices general Obstetrics and Gynecology with a special interest in advanced operative laparoscopy and pelvic reconstructive surgery including minimally invasive surgery for urinary incontinence. Office based hysteroscopic procedures for sterilization and endometrial ablation are also performed. His nurse has been with him for over 20 years and they consider their patients part of their family.
