Biography
Shawn F. Smyth, M.D., is a movement disorder and behavioral neurology subspecialist in a solo practice, located on the campus of Sinai Hospital. He is also a part-time assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University. He completed a neurology residency at the University of Colorado, fellowship in Movement Disorders at Johns Hopkins University, and fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry at University Hospitals Case Western Medical Center. Dr. Smyth’s interests include progressive brain disorders that affect behavior and movement, clinical assessments and ratings and patient-caregiver dyads.
Dr. Smyth volunteers as a member of the Physician Education Committee for CurePSP, whose mission is to provide awareness, education, care, and a cure for devastating Prime of Life neurodegenerative diseases. His involvement began in 2013 and continues to the present. Together they have compiled patient and care partner videos demonstrating these disorders and published a 50-minute videotaped lecture to improve physician awareness and management of PSP, CBS, and MSA.
