Personal Interests

Dr. Chen takes an interest in staying active including playing basketball (as well as following the NBA), Hiking, and Calisthenic workouts. He otherwise takes interest in music, particularly in playing the piano including musical composition and improvisation. Lately, he has been trying become more adapt at Jazz. Otherwise, he always enjoys philosophical conversations and deepening understanding of how to approach life.

Biography

Dr. Chen grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland and attended Thomas S. Wooton High School. He went on to attend Johns Hopkins University to study Neuroscience and proceeded to Medical School in Blacksburg, Virginia at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He held onto his initial draw into medicine, in that he highly valued the ongoing relationship between physician and patient and the many interesting challenges of medicine as a whole, which he carried into training in Family Medicine Residency at LewisGale Medical Center in Roanoke, VA.

Dr. Chen takes particular interest in behavioral health, preventative health, and aiming towards the goal of maintaining/elevating the quality of life of individuals.
