Personal Interests
Dr. Picone likes astronomy, squash, bicycling, skiing, and reading. In fact, his favorite books are the classics by Victor Hugo, Tolstoi, Balzac. His favorite music is Spanish guitar, and his favorite movies are the Bourne Identity trilogy and Dragon Tattoo.

Biography
Dr. Picone received his medical degree from the National University of Cordoba, Argentina in 1989, graduating summa cum laude. He completed internship, residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in 1994. He then pursued Fellowships in Critical Care Medicine at the National Institutes of Health and in Pulmonary Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia with completion in 1997. Dr. Picone has extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, where he also served as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Picone holds Board Certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine and also obtained certification by the European Respiratory Society. He has been a Medical Volunteer in several Latin American countries and currently volunteers with Mobile Medical Clinics of Greater Washington, D.C. Dr. Picone also serves as a Board Member of Operation Canasta, supporting schools and orphanages in Argentina. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Picone has an interest in literature, chess, squash and astronomy.
