About Us
What is concierge medicine?
Concierge medicine is a rapidly growing style of practice in which a physician greatly limits the number of patients in the practice in order to provide a far greater level of service. Unlike traditional practice styles, which limit the amount of time spent with each patient to make up for rising costs, concierge physicians see far fewer patients allowing more time to fully address every concern of their patients. This style of practice is ideal for families who value personalized service, extended and unrushed appointments, and around-the-clock cell phone and texting access to their pediatrician. Concierge medicine is not for everyone, but for those parents wishing to spend more time with their child’s doctor discussing ways to prevent illness, rather than simply treat the acute problem, concierge medicine gives a much-appreciate peace of mind.
How does concierge medicine work?
Our office functions just like any other medical office during the daytime. We see patients in the office, bill insurance, and take copays/coinsurance, etc. We ask our patients to call the office for routine requests such as medication refills, school notes, copies of shot records, or to speak with one of the nurses. In addition to the above, each family pays a monthly concierge fee that allows us to keep the practice relatively small. Our typical day consists of about half the number of patients seen in a traditional pediatric practice. This allows for longer appointments where we can take the time to get to know you and your family. In addition, parents are given an “after-hours” cell phone number to use in case of emergencies. Parents can text us or call us for advice any time in the evenings or on weekends. Overall, parents get the peace of mind of knowing that someone is always available to help them if there’s a problem.
