Biography

While Dr. Williams was growing up in the tiny community of Epworth Georgia, she could only dream that after attending Young Harris and North GA Colleges, and finishing with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, she’d be accepted at the prestigious Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and someday be able to return to her home to practice medicine. But following her Pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis Tennessee, that is exactly what happened.

While in Memphis, she also had the invaluable experience of working at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Since she returned to her home in Blue Ridge with her husband Van and two daughters, Abigail and Emma, she has enjoyed the great beauty of our area and rekindled her love for our community.

As for her medical practice philosophy she says, “I love the challenge of figuring out the correct diagnosis! I have always wanted to be a detective so pediatric medicine is a great fit for me.” “But most of all, I enjoy getting to know the children and the families. When I am able to connect with a frightened child and get her to smile it makes my day! It is absolutely heartwarming to see a child who came in frightened or lethargic walk out with a spring in her step. Pediatric medicine is to me a calling, and the very best medicine of all is love!”
