Dr. Yusuf was born in Nigeria in a large family to widely traveled parents who served as diplomats. He has a deep interest in education, faith, and the human condition. Issa has two sons and loves soccer.

Biography

Dr. Issa Yusuf is a 1995 graduate of the University of Ilorin College of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, an affiliate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was voted best senior resident, an award from junior resident colleagues. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

He is widely traveled and has spent time at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Manhattan, NY. He has also practiced in South Carolina and has extensive professional interests.

Dr. Yusuf’s unique background has influenced his philosophy of caring and medical practice. His field of interest includes comprehensive management plans for diabetes, hypertension, smoking cessation, and weight loss.
