Biography

Berry Peterson’s role has allowed him to continue to care for the total patient and their families. His focus is on the primary care of children, and he has particular clinical interests in well-child exams, immunizations, sports physicals, sports related injuries, care of common pediatric illnesses, and preventive health.

Upon completion of his undergraduate studies at Georgia State University in 1993, Berry began work as a staff nurse in the emergency department at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding and Egleston. In 1997 he continued his studies and completed a Master of Science in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training at Georgia State University. After NP training, Berry resumed his career at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston; his focus was in the Pulmonary department in the Apnea Center. In this role, he cared for infants with respiratory problems. He joined the Cardiothoracic Surgery team focusing primarily on post-surgical management, wound care, and infant nutrition.
