Biography
Dr. Patel is a Northern Virginia native and is thrilled to be back in the area to serve her patients. She received her undergraduate education from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and then went on to obtain her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Patel completed an intensive three year surgical residency program at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her interest in Diabetic Limb Salvage and Complex Wound Care prompted her to complete a one year Fellowship at the Veterans Affairs Eastern Colorado Health Care System/Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, where she served as an Attending on staff and was responsible for inpatient podiatric care, performed all of the lower extremity limb salvage cases, as well as ran her own busy wound care clinic. In addition to this, she collaborated with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Patel has contributed to the field of Podiatry through research, publications, volunteering her time to community organizations and mentoring podiatry students.
