Biography

Barbara Onumah, MD is a board-certified endocrinologist. She graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, now Rutgers Medical School. She completed internal medicine residency training at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and diabetes and endocrine fellowship training at the National Institute of Health-National institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Disease in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Onumah is an expert clinician who treats all types of general endocrine and metabolic disorders.

Her other passion besides delivering excellent clinical care is teaching. She was previously on faculty for several years at the combined Medstar Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Endocrine Fellowship Training Program and most recently was core faculty for the Anne Arundel Internal Medicine Residency training program. She is an active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Medical Association. She upholds family values and loves spending time with family and friends, reading the Bible and listening to contemporary gospel music. She is happily married to her husband Kojo and the proud mother of Kronkron and Jidi. They are proud Marylanders.
