Dr. Siegrist likes to walk and do athletic activities. He used to play basketball in high school and college. He also enjoys watching sports. In addition, he likes cultural events such as concerts, opera, etc. He also likes to read--when he gets the chance.

Biography

Dr. Stephen Siegrist is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Siegrist completed further training at Millcreek Community Hospital (now Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine). Prior to medical school, he earned a Master's degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Siegrist is board certified in family practice by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He has also served as a physician in the military on both active duty and reserves. Dr. Siegrist retired from the military as a Colonel. He has had previous training and experience as a Medical Review Officer.

Dr. Siegrist enjoys providing medical care to all ages except for the very young. He listens carefully so he can address the patient's needs. Dr. Siegrist is also interested in being proactive to prevent problems or find them early. An example of this is the use of advanced lipid testing and CT scan with calcium score to evaluate for possible developing heart disease - hopefully well in advance of symptoms.

Dr. Siegrist has taught students from several different medical schools including the Medical College of Virginia. He has always tried to demonstrate a caring philosophy to the students. Dr. Siegrist emphasizes preventative care and the patient/physician relationship in an effort to achieve better health and quality of life.
