Occupation
FAMILY MEDICINE
"As we enter a new era of healthcare, improved outcomes for all is the goal. Corporate ownership of healthcare is happening whether we like it or not. The days of a small business cottage industry are over. Keeping what is already good intact in this process is important; in other words, 'Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater.' I feel that system organization from Privia offers us the best opportunity from the options we have. Providers of health care need to have a say in this process. Privia seems to emphasize that. With their support, I hope to spend the rest of my career providing better quality care than I could have dreamed of providing without their support."

Personal Interests
I love spending time with family and friends around activities like live music and fishing or activities that involve getting exercise. Watching my sons grow up is an adventure which can be fun but also challenging. When alone, I enjoy reading, both professionally and for pleasure, and watching sports and movies. I am only a novice, but I am beginning to really enjoy Civil War history.
My favorite professional experience is helping a patient achieve improvements in lifestyle which will lead to a longer, healthier, and wealthier life. I remind patients daily - if you want to lose money to the healthcare system in retirement, choose to be sedentary, don't exercise, and see what happens.

Biography
Dr. Ken Moles grew up in the Roanoke Valley where he enjoyed both a suburban home and experience but also the challenges of farm life on his grandparents' farm that was close by. He received his undergraduate education from Washington and Lee University, earning a BS degree in Biology. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He trained for rural Family Medicine in North Central West Virginia with the intention of a career in a rural setting. After a few years practicing in Woodstock, VA, he moved with his wife to Fairfax in order to help families. He spent almost five years practicing in Fairfax before becoming a member of the team at Burke Family Practice in 1999. This is where he hopes to complete his career.
Ken lives with his wife and two sons in Fairfax. He has helped serve the community by volunteering in his two sons' activities, which have included sports, PTA, Boy Scouts and Church activities. He has helped in the past with committee work at Inova Fairfax Hospital and currently helps to coordinate a yearly community fun run that benefits Inova's Life With Cancer Organization. His hobbies include exercising, fishing, reading, live music, and working in the yard. His favorite professional passion is helping busy people overcome chronic illness by improving lifestyle.
