Biography
Dr. Pilkington earned his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Chemistry in 2000 from Georgetown University. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2004 from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is a member of both Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies.
Dr. Pilkington completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Duke University Hospital in 2009. His practice involves all aspects of adult and pediatric Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, with special interests in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, nasal and sinus disease, hearing and balance disorders, and head and neck surgery.
Dr. Pilkington is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a fellow of the Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has active privileges at the Virginia Hospital Center. Dr. Pilkington is also a member of the Arlington County Medical Society and provides volunteer services to the Arlington Free Clinic. He has been named a WASHINGTONIAN Magazine " Top Doctor" numerous time. He has also been recognized as a Northern Virginia Magazine "Top Doctor."
Dr. Pilkington has been married for fifteen years and has two children. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys coaching youth sports, enjoys running and is an avid reader.
