“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” – Benjamin Franklin “I am a big proponent of preventative medicine. Routine well care visits are my most enjoyable visits because it gives me a chance to slow down and connect with patients and their caregivers. It allows for thorough discussions about important things such as childhood development, vaccinations, safety, nutrition, exercise, mental health, puberty, and school performance. It allows for assessment of risk factors of illness and conditions that can have a negative impact on normal healthy growth and development. And when a problem is discovered, it allows for early intervention. It allows me to provide anticipatory guidance. Those visits are great because it allows me to build a relationship with my patients and their caregivers and to provide them with advice and guidance that will promote their healthy growth and development.”
